High-speed internet available in Devonshire

Bermuda CableVision today announces that its Broadband Link service is now available in Devonshire.  The company's new high-speed data service boosts the user's internet connection and is purchased as an add-on to their internet package.   The company also announces that Fort Knox is now offering Broadband Link and is the fourth Internet Service Provider (ISP) to join the network, following Logic, Transact and North Rock.

Already available in St. George's, St. David's, Hamilton  parish and Smith's, Broadband Link became available throughout Devonshire  today, thanks to the activation of service in that parish. CableVision is introducing the service parish-by-parish, moving westward.

Broadband Link is a high-speed connection to a customer's ISP made available over CableVision's fibre-based broadband network.  Offering speeds up to 2 mbps in both upload and download modes, Broadband Link is secure, reliable and lets users accomplish more, boost their productivity or simply send and share photos, games, video and music.

?With Devonshire activated, people in four parishes can now super-charge their internet connection," says Terry Roberson, General Manager, Bermuda CableVision.  "We are looking forward to making the service available to all our customers over the coming months.  In addition, we are very pleased to welcome Fort Knox to our network of participating ISPs, which already includes Transact, Logic and Northrock.  We believe these partnerships will be of great benefit to Bermuda's community of broadband users, who are looking for greater speed at affordable costs."

Rollin Nathan, Sales Manger, Bermuda CableVision, commented on initial customers' reactions to the new service, saying, ?Everyone who has tried it is impressed.  There's nothing like the speed and reliability of a cable broadband connection, which has not been available before in Bermuda.  Moreover, as customers are finding out how easy it is to switch to Broadband
Link, they are calling their ISP or CableVision and getting on the network, which we are able to do very quickly. Installation times average between one and three business days from the time of a customer's request for service, and CableVision handles all the paper work to keep it as convenient as possible."

The cost for Broadband Link is $35 per month, in addition to the internet package the customer purchases from their ISP.  Installation is performed by a professional CableVision technician, and a one-time installation fee of $50 applies for existing CableVision customers.  Non-CableVision customers require a full installation, which costs $100.  The service also requires a
cable modem, which is provided by CableVision at a cost of $55.

Customers wishing to sign up for the service can contact CableVision or any of the participating ISPs.  The final speed at which a customer will access the internet depends on the package they purchase from their ISP.
